Course Information

Description

This course provides foundational training in experimental design and data literacy tailored specifically for biomedical research. Students will systematically design experiments and learn methods to collect, organize, and analyze biomedical data. Emphasis is placed on practical, hands-on experience using statistical and data-management software tools. Through interactive lectures, discussion forums, group activities, and case studies, students will explore real-world scenarios and actively identify potential pitfalls, biases, and limitations inherent in biomedical research. By the end of the course, students will possess the critical thinking skills needed to design robust experiments, confidently select appropriate statistical methods, and accurately analyze and interpret experimental results. They will also recognize and mitigate common pitfalls, biases, and limitations, preparing them for effective biomedical research.

Class Notes

We will have a Friday lunch workshop session for the MMSc-TS students in the class.
