Description
This externship provides the opportunity for the students to enhance their clinical skills and judgement outside of the dental school environment. In their assignments at the dental clinic of selected Veterans Administration Medical Centers and Community Health Centers students learn how dental health care is integrated with total health care delivery. Students have the opportunity to work with a great degree of independence and to improve their diagnostic skills, patient management and communication skills, and decision-making abilities. In addition, this externship enables student to increase their speed, proficiency and self-confidence in general dental practice.
