Description

Identifying and obtaining external funding can be a critical skill in academic research settings. This writing intensive, workshop-based course prepares graduate students to develop competitive fellowship and other research funding applications, with an emphasis on the National Science Foundation’s Graduate Research Fellowship Proposal (GRFP) and the National Institutes of Health F31, as well as related early-career awards from other federal and non-federal sources. Over the course of the semester, students will learn to identify funding opportunities and will develop a full fellowship proposal, including research statements, broader impacts, personal statements, and training and career development components.
