The course is designed to provide students with a background in the care of women who are at risk for or who have been diagnosed with gynecologic malignancy. It will focus on all aspects of the continuum of cancer care: from prevention, early detection, diagnosis, and management of gynecologic cancer and precancerous conditions. Students will be a part of a team of residents, fellows, and a physician assistant, participating in daily rounds and learning hands-on skills in the operating room. Weekly clinics will be devoted to learning the workup and management of suspected gynecologic malignancy, as well as the early detection of neoplasia of the lower genital tract. Students will have the opportunity to learn from teaching conferences such as weekly Gynecologic Oncology Tumor Board.
