Course Information

Description

How do neuron circuits transform sensory input into behavioral output? We will focus on findings from simple but highly refined insect model systems (ie, bees, moths, ants, fruit flies), and we will draw connections to analogous circuits and behaviors in vertebrates and humans. Special emphasis is placed on sensory integration, learning and memory, navigation, and decision making. We will investigate the computational goals of these behaviors, the strategies used to solve them, and their neural implementation in the brain.
