HISTSCI 100

Course Information

Description

How are science, medicine and technology related to the society, politics, and culture? How have the ways we go about understanding our natural and social worlds changed over time? What is the responsibility of science to the people? How have states and businesses supported scientific research, and why? What has been the relationship of science to medicine and technology in history? We will ask these questions and more by studying crucial moments in the development of science from the pre-modern world to the present day.
