Course Information
Description
This course invites teacher candidates in the Teaching and Teacher Leadership (TTL) program to approach classrooms as sites of ongoing inquiry into teaching and learning. Grounded in the TTL Indicators of Effective Teaching, the course develops candidates’ capacity to get to know students deeply, observe instruction with purpose, and engage in conversations that surface multiple perspectives on classroom life. Through systematic observation and analysis of practice, candidates learn to connect specific teacher moves to patterns of student engagement, support, and learning, and to reflect on how their own identities and decisions shape those outcomes. By the end of the course, candidates will have cultivated an inquiry stance and a set of evidence‑based insights that will guide their instructional choices.
