Description

In the summer, we worked on reflection, understanding ourselves, and our place in the community as we simultaneously created it. We began to cultivate and create our “teaching practices” and approach to teaching as critical ELA teachers. This fall, we enter deeper into some topics we lightly touched this summer, and some we have never seen. This course requires deep engagement in core skills and ideas that help equip and prepare English teachers for the field. Classes are a combination of modeling and experiential learning, mixed with rehearsal and role-play-based classes. Students should think of Fall Methods as a learning lab - wherein we use our community of practice to explore and experiment with new teaching practices and learn together in public.  The culmination of the fall methods course will be a complete unit plan of the TC’s choosing.
