Description
*Lottery Enrollment Course* Data can be a powerful lever for change in education, but its impact depends on how clearly, credibly, and equitably we communicate it. This module focuses on the craft of turning quantitative findings into stories, visuals, and written products that “stick” and spur action. Students will learn to frame findings and comparisons, highlight what matters for different audiences, and design powerful and accessible data displays. They will practice creating memos, charts, and infographics that make complex results understandable and actionable and explore how language, structure, and design choices shape interpretation. This module complements statistics courses by emphasizing communication and use of data rather than analytic methods and is well‑suited for students who expect to present, interpret, or advocate with data in their future roles.
Prerequisites: one semester of statistics (S012 or equivalent) are required.
Class Notes
Attendance is mandatory and required to maintain enrollment in this course. Students who are enrolled or wait-listed and do not attend the first day of class will be dropped from the course.
