Course Information

Description

This course examines the economics and finance of entrepreneurship and innovation, which drive economic growth, structural change, and long-run productivity. We consider the role of government, agglomeration and spillovers, who becomes an entrepreneur, how new firms are financed, and implications of the rise of AI, among other topics. The course has a strong focus on interpreting and critiquing strong papers, with the goal of improving empirical intuition for students with a broad variety of interests. In a final project, students submit a research proposal broadly linked to the themes of the course.
